We are proud to once again be a Pillar Award Honoree.
The Medical Mutual Pillar Awards for Community Service encourage a charitable environment, recognize creative efforts that make a difference, and demonstrate the ties between the for-profit and nonprofit worlds. They honor businesses of all types and sizes that make outstanding contributions to their community through charitable giving, volunteerism, pro bono work or other forms of giving back.
Despite the challenges of COVID-19 that limited in-person opportunities, Mesa was very pleased to have still found some ways to reach out to our community. This summer, we organized a pandemic-friendly project to provide Ronald McDonald House with takeaway bags for their residents. Our employees divided into four teams to complete four mini-projects and keep our gathering size as small as possible: one team bought the supplies; two teams hand-decorated the bags and filled them with food; and one team delivered the bags to Ronald McDonald house. We were excited to meet this need for the House so residents could focus more on their children’s medical needs. Even though we can’t visit St. Joseph Orphanage in person this year, we took up a collection for a donation to help kids at the orphanage who may not otherwise receive a holiday gift. We also donated dozens of coats and other clothing to a nearby free store.
Mesa has a long history of community service and involvement. In recent years, Mesa and its employees have served at and donated to St. Joseph Orphanage, Ronald McDonald House, the Cincinnati Zoo, Project Frontline, Circle Tail, organized a neighborhood litter cleanup, hosted a manufacturing day for students, and provided tours for local Cub Scouts. We’re proud of the contributions our company and employees make to our community and look forward to future opportunities.
Register to join us and other honorees virtually at the Cincinnati Pillar Awards on January 28th, 2021.
